Columbus Communications has announced the acquisition of Grenada Cablevision Limited and has officially launched its operations under the brand, Flow Grenada.

According to Brendan Paddick, Chief Executive Officer of Columbus, the acquisition of Grenada Cablevision further underscores Columbus’ commitment to the Caribbean region. “Columbus and its team are focused on providing first world telecommunications services in all of the countries in which we operate, and the acquisition of Grenada Cablevision is a further testimony to our commitment to the economic and technological development of the region.”

Paddick added, “the Grenadian market can expect significant enhancements to its cable and telecommunications services as Flow upgrades all existing customers to a state-of-the-art broadband platform; a platform that will facilitate the provision of our triple play services - digital cable, broadband internet and digital landline voice services.

Commenting on the transaction, Mr. Paddick continued, “On behalf of all of the employees and customers of Grenada Cablevision, Columbus would like to acknowledge the tremendous efforts of Mr. Hugh Dolland and his fellow shareholders. Thanks to their foresight and perseverance, Grenada as a nation is well poised to benefit from open competition in the marketplace”.

Once cable TV customers are upgraded to the new digital platform, they will benefit from enhanced video and audio performance, access to hundreds of video and audio channels, the ability to customise entertainment packages and the convenience of numerous
Pay-Per-View channels. Columbus also plans to launch a very robust Broadband Internet service and a competitive fixed line telephone service in Grenada.
