Through the generosity of the Caribbean Cable and Telecommunications Association (CCTA), local charity ‘PROMISE Inc’ received a USD$1,000 grant from the association’s 2008 Community Charities Program.
‘PROMISE Inc’ was nominated for the grant by local cable and telecommunications provider, Columbus Communications Trinidad Limited (Flow), who is also a member of the CCTA. They were selected by Community Charities Program because of the outstanding service and assistance it provides to the community.
The CCTA’s Community Charities Program, established in 1993, has awarded nearly USD$190,000 to Caribbean charities during its existence. The program originally awarded ten grants per year. However over the years interest in the program has grown substantially. As such, all 19 nominees for 2008 were awarded grants based on the unanimous votes by the association’s board of directors.
Formed in 1983, the Caribbean Cable and Telecommunications Association represents cable and telecommunications providers throughout the Caribbean, and the programmers, software and hardware suppliers that support their operations.
