Flow has announced a landmark three-year, multi-million dollar partnership with the Trinidad & Tobago Film Festival (TTFF).

TTFF is an annual celebration of films from and about Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean basin and the Diaspora. The upcoming 2008 Festival, scheduled to run from September 17th to 30th, is expected to be the biggest and best edition of the Festival to date, showcasing films from the English, French and Spanish-speaking Caribbean, as well as from the Caribbean Diaspora and Venezuela.

According to Flow’s Director of Sales, Marketing & Communications, Mrs. Rhea Yaw Ching, the Company’s decision to partner with the TTFF is significant as Flow seeks to promote the culture of not only Trinidad and Tobago, but that of the region as well. “Flow has played an important role over the years in the development of local content; many stations came into being as ‘cable only’ television networks, later developing into national free to air channels that can now be seen across Trinidad & Tobago,” explained Mrs. Yaw Ching.

She added that during the month of October, Flow customers will also have the opportunity to view these movies exclusively on the Company’s Pay-Per-View system, with 100% of the proceeds collected during the first two weeks of Pay-Per-View purchases to be given back to the filmmakers. “The objective is to give back to those who made the films possible, thereby further supporting the development of future works,” said Mrs. Yaw Ching

TTFF Executive Director, Ms. Marina Salandy-Brown, also expressed her gratitude to Flow for committing to the development of the arts in the region. She stated, “having a committed corporate sponsor such as Flow allows us to achieve our ambition to build the local film industry, showcasing the work of our filmmakers, providing the opportunity for us to hone our skills, and establishing a bigger market for our creative output.”

Covering a wide range of themes and genres and comprising both feature length and short films, the TTFF includes dramas, comedies, documentaries, thrillers, music films, historical films, art house films, children’s films and animated films.
