Flow has partnered with Trinidadtunes.com to promote the legal download of music produced by local and regional artistes.
The official launch of the ‘Download FREE + LEGAL’ anti-piracy campaign took place on Monday 15th December at Veni Mangé Restaurant in Woodbrook. The rapso group, 3canal will be an integral part of this campaign, promoting the legal download of local music from www.trinidadtunes.com.
‘DOWNLOAD FREE + LEGAL’ is the campaign’s directive to fans and music lovers to download the Boom Up History single from 3canal’s 2009 Joy & Fire album. Individuals can download this single free of charge from www.trinidadtunes.com for a limited time courtesy of Flow. Flow will subsidise the cost for each download, with 3canal benefiting from the proceeds of each download.
According to Flow’s Director of Sales, Marketing and Communications, Rhea Yaw Ching “Illegal distribution of music continues to be an ongoing issue for artistes. We applaud Trinidadtunes for taking the initiative and being amongst the first local online facilitators of legal distribution of local and regional music. It is our intention to support the current and future development of creative arts and culture, as is facilitated in this alliance.”
Lorraine O’Connor of Trindadtunes.com expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership with Flow. She stated, “We are very excited about this alliance because it will help us continue the work we began a year ago to promote and give voice to local content through our website. We are doubly excited that 3canal will spearhead this initiative and have already spun their magic with the mantra DOWNLOAD FREE + LEGAL.”
The music of other local and regional artistes is also available on trinidadtunes.com at a cost of US$0.99c per download.
